CARRYING SPECIFIC MEDICINES IN UAE MAY GET YOU IN TROUBLE

Migrants entering UAE might face strict legal action if found carrying controlled medicines in quantities that exceed the allowed quantity or carrying medicines which are altogether banned, according to a circular issued by Ministry of Health and Prevention, UAE. Travelers have been observed to violate, out of sheer ignorance, the drugs-related laws of UAE by carrying medicines containing banned substances and have had to face arrest and deportation. The guidelines, alongwith the list of banned drugs (given below), has been released as a Ministerial decree by the government of UAE to protect both their citizens and expatriates from abuse. It cautions people entering UAE against bringing in controlled or psychotropic medicines and narcotics that may easily be available in the country of origin of migrants but might be included in the controlled list in UAE.
