The Government of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has approved a project title, “New City at Taif” amounting to US $ 3 billion which is expecting to create thousands of jobs. The project aimed to build following infrastructure by 2020:-

  • Residential suburbs of 10,000 homes
  • Technology Oasis
  • New Industrial City
  • New University
  • New Souk Okaz City

The New Taif Airport is expected to be operational by 2020 which will cost US $800 million. The first phase of the New Industrial City will cost US $32 million which includes light, medium and heavy industries alongwith a vocational training center. The New University is composed of 16 separate projects at a cost of US $530 million. The New Souk Okaz City, a tourist consign, will also attract 260,000 visitors per annum with an expected creation of 4,400 jobs of various categories for the completion of its 1250hotel rooms and 130 new homes.
