| Job Description | "Tile fitter — mounts the ceramic tiles on the walls and floors. Cuts the tiles at the appropriate size and shape, prepares the surface and fixes the tiles at level and in a straight line. Tile fitters may also takeover creative and artistic projects, some mounting mosaics. Essential skills and competences: mixes mortars; applies adhesive for tiles; seals expansion joints; uses measurement instruments; inspects the construction materials; works considering ergonomic principles; mounts tiles; plans and organises the mounting of ceramic wall and floor tiles; complies with health and safety regulations in construction: cuts tiles; types of tiles, slabs and roof tiles; transports construction materials; draws chalk lines; fills in joints between tiles; uses protection and safety equipment in constructions; Essential knowledge: blasting techniques; types of adhesives for ceramic tiles.
