| Job Description | Loaders load packaged shipments onto trucks, trains, ships, and other transportation. They may bundle packages before loading, use hand trucks, and operate forklifts. Unloading: Loaders unload incoming shipments from trucks and transport them to warehouses. They may use hand trucks, pallet jacks, ramps, and forklifts to remove boxes, crates, and palletized products. Inspecting: Loaders inspect products before and after loading to ensure their quality. They record any defects and report them to management. Storing: Loaders take unloaded products into storage areas. Logging: Loaders log inventory and record changes to scheduled shipments. Shipping: Loaders review outgoing orders to ensure they contain the correct freight and secure shipments. Loading and unloading is a common skill in industries such as logistics, manufacturing, and retail.
