Mandatory Character Certificate for expatriates applying work visa for UAE

UAE Government has made it mandatory from 04-02-2018 to get a character certificate before applying for work visa. The certificate will only be applicable for the concerned worker and not his dependents etc. It is also clarified that certificate is not mandatory for an existing resident who is switching jobs within the country. Moreover, this certificate is not applicable to those who are going to UAE on tourist, visit or student visas. Dubai Police Coordination Committee has clarified that the applicant may provide the good conduct certificate from the country of residence or the country from where he/she has been residing for last five years.
PROCEDURE TO GET CHARACTER CERTIFICATE FOR PAKISTANIS PROCEEDING TO UAE ON EMPLOYMENT OR WORK VISA
Guidelines for Pakistanis to obtain character certificate from Pakistan:
Step 1: Obtain police clearance certificate from local police station
Step 2: Get attested police clearance certificate from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan or from its camp offices located in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta.
- If the individual is in Pakistan
Get attested the certificate from embassy/consulate of UAE in Pakistan through its designated service providers, i.e.
a) Gerry's http://visadropbox.com/uae
b) Sasha International http://sasha.pk
- If the individual is in UAE
a) Get attested the police clearance certificate from Pakistan embassy in Abu Dhabi, or Pakistan consulate general in Dubai
b) Get the certificate attested from the UAE ministry of foreign affairs
